 Winhill is a closed
city, located at the south side of Galbadia. The closest location near
Winhill is the D-District Prison. You can't enter the city in Disc one,
but after the dream sequence of Winhill and you have the movable garden,
you can get to the apart land by the farrest left side, not over the
water.
The
first time you visit the city is through the past of Laguna. After a hard
fall at a mission (falling of the cliff in dream-sequence two), people
found him near the water. As nobody could take care for him, because the
man were of to fight Adel and because most people are old, a young woman
named Raine had the ability to take care of him. Laguna eventually
recovered to help the town, for saving his live, he helps it by destroying
the incoming monsters.
A
great relationships grows between Laguna and Ellone, Raine's adopted
daughter. The relationship between Raine and Laguna was a little of, they
bothed cared for each other, but Raine sometimes had trouble with Laguna's
manners, like snorring, talking in his sleep and mostly that he always
interferes in her sentences.
Whatever
happend, one day Laguna asked Raine to marry her, it was quite a shock for
her, but she accepted. Seems that they were together for quite some time
before that, maybe some months after Kiros came to Winhill.
Soon,
Ellone was taken away by some Esthar soldiers, because their ruler (Adel)
was after her mysterious power to look into past of people she knew in the
past. Laguna went on a journey to find Ellone. Raine became pregnant of
Squall...and died soon after.
This
is the story that happens when we are in Winhill at the dream-sequence. If
we enter the town later one you can hear some stories of Raine, Ellone and
Laguna.
The
vase fragments
One
of the missions requires a search for the pieces of a broken vase. It's
not really special, but you can still win a Holy stone. Here are the
locations you must go to for the vase pieces.
1.
Go to the armour in the hall of the mansion and press the X button. If
Quistis is in the party (maybe Rinoa aswell) you can see the armour move.
It seems there is a Chicobo trapped in the armour, running away and
loosing one of the vase pieces.
2.
Go to the house of Raine, up the stairs, you'll have a hallucination of
Raine, which she will turn into a normal woman. Talk to her and the cat,
strange enough it speaks. Go downstairs and you'll see Raine again
changing into that cat. You must look around that place to find the second
vase piece.
3.
Go downstairs over the bridge on the square and you'll see a woman walking
fast in her house. Enter that house and examine the flowers at the bottom
of the screen to require the third vase piece.
4.
Go down until you hear a wicked sound, a Chicobo is running over the path
from once side to another. When he is on the path, press X to kick it.
It'll take some time, but after a third kick you should receive the fourth
vase piece.
Bring
the vase pieces over to the mansion, talk to the man and he'll thank you
for bringing repairing his vase. He will give you one Holy stone for your
hard work.
Funny
sequence
I
don't know if I'm right, but if you check on that armour it'll move and
your party will be startled by it and if Rinoa is scared, Squall
automatically gives one of the other party members the blame for making
her scared. It should be the chicobo in it, but who's talking? I don't
know anymore, it's been a while.
