Rinoa Heartilly

Rinoa is the girl that turns Squall's known universe, habits and thoughts upside down, twisted in a new world.

Squall and Rinoa first met at the SeeD festival, were she asked him to dance. Most people could see that they were the main love interest in the game, but after the dance she left without exposing her name to Squall. To his desires, you could see he was quite fascinated by her outgoing personality on the dance-floor.

They soon met the day after, but Squall wasn't the guy she thought he would be. Rinoa is quite the open-hearted girl, expressing her feelings witout reservation and clearing thoughts out and problems out until they are solved. She plans missions and knows what she wants, yet with a rebel and stubborn asset. Squall has the reflected side of Rinoa, so their relationship did not start of very well. There came to be misunderstandings for the missions and dissagreements with feelings.

Rinoa is someone that likes to hear what people think, people like her or in just the similar kind of way, not that closed like Squall. Squall got annoyed by her that easily, because she was to open and clinched herself onto his shoulder when he wanted to be alone.

After a while, Rinoa apologises for the way she has behaved to him, nobody knew why, though my opinion is that while Squall, Selphie and Quistis were asleep, Zell and Rinoa talked to each other. He probably told her the reason for Squall's attitude, Rinoa might have agreed with it and maybe told herself to make him happy.

In time Squall and Rinoa started to agree with each other more and she tried to fit in with his personality on most occassions like Quistis did. Not planning to, Rinoa developed feelings to Squall, which playfully rejected of, which became obvious for Squall.

Strange enough, and mostly the reason why people don't like this couple, is the reaction Squall makes when she is in a coma, while he was acting serious to her before. I might agree with this to overreacting love affair, maybe this is a mistake in the game by Square-Enix, or else it is because you only can feel what you feel for someone if she or he is gone. Squall might have felt the same way, missing her voice and playfull attitude.

The relationship became pretty much completed, yet I do wanna state that some mistake, dissagreements can happen in the future like in any other relationship, even when they became one, they often can become apart again.

Angelo

Unlike her mistress, Angelo is wary of people she has never met, this either leads to a bad experience in the past. Squall and Angelo first meet in the Forest Owls base, and through the time he and Rinoa get closer, Angelo tends to feel that Squall is ok. Angelo might like the other team members aswell, but with Squall she is capable to find interaction.

During the course of the game, we occassionally see Angelo. As Squall is planning on taking Rinoa to Lunar Base, Angelo is sad, since she cannot go on the journey in order to protect her mistress if needed. At this point Squall pets Angelo saying that her mistress will be ok.

Therefore, Angelo knows that her mistress is alright in Squall's hand, and might see him as a mister of her's. Squall might not speak much about Angelo, since we do not see her much, but we all know that Angelo is hanging around the group very closely, but he do not see her, since it will be difficult to add her to the team (which I think is bad, since I wanted her to hang around the group).

Angelo is very much part of the team, and the relationship between Squall and Angelo is one, since they both wish to protect Rinoa.
