Squall
is kind of a character that has different views to see. Some people see
him as a anti-social, introverted guy, while other's see him as a
lone-wolf, that is being thorn apart from his past feelings. Squall show
both these sides, and
both
of them are kind of true in similar
way's,
yet some of them can be called unsure.
Unlike
most of the characters, Squall shows more of what a adult needs to be
rather then the teenager he really is. Many accept the fact he is the
opposite of Rinoa, going more in the way towards Cloud. Yet Tetsuya Nomura
thought this would kind of look awkward that two characters would be the
same. The change in Squall towards Cloud is that he opens up when
something draws his attention or when he is dissapointed or angry.
Squall
didn't mourn for people that die, he kinda worries 'bout it that people
talk in the 'past' sence, scared they wouldn't be talking 'bout him. This
is mostly his way of expressing his feelings of coming wide open and
screaming out. This interact draws people further away from him, yet they
do hold their believe in him. The death of Seifer didn't upset him, infact
Squall was kinda glad he died or isn't? This is just a typical situation
that you can't get a clear view of what Squall is thinking at that point.
To
have a greater view of Squall, you must try thinking you are him. This is
rather a difficult doing, but it seems that after he knows that Seifer is
death, he is both upset, dissapointed as the opposite of these words.
Seifer was to Squall a symbol of power, he may seem to disconnect himself
from Seifer's opposite personality, yet he learned a lot by him. This
makes Squall stronger in a word that he learns to deal with death, life,
loses and
love.
Fighting with Seifer, gives him the upportunity to learn from his
failures, to become more stronger, yet more closer to his own feelings and
desires.
Tetsuya
Nomura made Squall so closed that he had to make the heroine opener.
Rinoa's personality had to be the total opposite of Squall, clear with her
feelings, caring for other people and
mostly
be friendly and
understanding.
These are all the things Squall doesn't have, yet Rinoa was also created
to give some of her personality over to Squall, learn him to express his
feelings. Although, it seemed so that Squall would have been created like
Cloud to become more opener whenever Rinoa was there.
This
makes up the fact that both Squall and
Rinoa
were created like the personality of both Cloud and
Tifa,
yet their love relationship were different then Squall and Rinoa's. FFVIII
has some interactions that relate Cloud and Squall to one another. This
isn't been told a lot, neither have people figured out the meaning behind
words they do tell in the game, to find out that they mean the same to one
another, yet just in a different kind of sentence.
Different
then this, seem that people do talk 'bout Squall like he is someone that
really lives. It feels like he is real, as people know him so well and
know
how he feels or for some that relates them to him, yet whatever you want
or believe in,
Squall
is fantasy, he lives in a fantasy world, a world where there can happen
all sorts of things that can mishappen here. This is a place where age,
personality doesn't matter, the only thing that may be important is the
time-line. Why, well you are never to young nor to old to do something,
yet it is sometimes stated in the game by Rinoa that Squall is a teenager,
yet he acts more as an adult.
Fantasy
allows that thing called True Love, yet if people believe it is fantasy,
it is stated in our time aswell. People that fall in love when they are
young, marrying at a proper age and
dying together. This may be called True Love, just you do not see this to
often, because their always happens something that would break it apart,
what never happens in a fantasy story, you can make the spin that breaking
apart doesn't exist.
This
is the same for his personality, will, feelings, skills, they are
unusually to see, yet they do exist in our world. Nobody is perfect,
perfect lies each day, therefore if someone is perfect don't go near.
Squall knows he isn't perfect, he just doesn't wanna come close into the
light, staying aside into the darkness he is used to be in. This warm
feelings towards colours, mostly the red and
black colours, which are also stated in his star sign, gives us a view of
how his personality should be.
As
the game progresses, Squall feels the soft touch the light can give him,
he tries to explore it, yet he beholds his feelings to the dark. I am not
talking 'bout evil and
good, but the feeling he shows us that he is infact a closed book. Rinoa
as we know is the opposite, there she can be seen as the open book. To
become perfect for each other, they have to step forward. Rinoa completed
her promise to help Squall to see that what he was doing is wrong, that
expressing his feelings are a good thing. It's been a hard lesson for
Squall, because he is scared to combining himself to others and
then
to feel that hurt of loneliness again. Yet, because he learned Rinoa to
become more a closed book, they understanded each other more because they
are on the same line. Squall eventually gives in to her.
Squall
can be seen as some sort of a symbol of loyalty, he has a personality,
feelings that can't compete neither can exist in such a world like ours,
yet they are seen apart from each other. This is mostly what Tetsuya
Nomura would wanted to have in this game, two opposites attracted to each
other by their different point of views, this isn't something that is seen
here, just only in a fantasy world like theirs. Square-Enix made this game
to show how great love can be in fantasy, so if they would break apart
what was the cause of the game then?
A
thing I want you to remember by, what I've mostly explained in the SeeD
section is the fact that Squall and
Rinoa
can be seen as the Yin-Yang symbol. This may seem awkward, but let me tell
it like this. Squall can be seen as the dark side of this symbol, with the
light side in it conflicting his feelings deep in his heart. Rinoa is the
lively spirited heroine of the girl, the open book or the light side of
Yin-Yang. The black or the light side in each of them sepresents the
feelings, abilities they have shared for one another, making them have a
true love relationship. Yet, for this Squall becomes more intertwined with
is feelings towards peoples and
becomes
more open, yet he beholds his other personality towards strangers.
