The
story didn't really concentrate that deep onto Squall's family, unlike
most Final Fantasy series, the characters do not have their own unique
past nor family for that matter. They all have been grown up at the
orphanage of Edea. This is one of the drawbacks at Final Fantasy VIII
because their isn't any indept story of the characters, which leads into
questioning.
To
go indept into Squall's past and the story, we can cleary state that
Squall had a family that lingered into a dramatic scene of hope and loses,
also a clearly state of Squall's understament to expressing feelings is
negative. Without the appearance of the dream sequence, Ellone's past and
conversations with Squall 'bout himself clearly focus us to grave deeper
into these lines, telling us what happend in Squall's early past and
further.
We
first meet Squall in Balamb Garden, his current home, yet SeeD members
only can enter Balamb Garden on the age of five, participating to become a
SeeD at the age of fifteen and higher. This makes us wonder where Squall
has lived before he moved in Garden. To reveal Squall's past we have to
make clear that he has lived in a orphanage before the age of five, same
for everyone that lived there except for Rinoa.
To
know more 'bout the orphanage the best thing to do is to clear up the
questions by understanding the lines that are spoken and the current
flashbacks you'll see at Trabia Garden. It still hasn't answered our
questions on how and why Squall stayed there...with his sis?
"Raine
wanted to show Laguna her new born baby..."
Ellone,
Squall's sis, has been sending sequences of her uncles past. No reasons
for why she sended them, were only cleared out at the moment Squall and
herself are talking through time. Just one more sequence is being showed
after this conversation. Ellone has been sending these sequencse from the
moment she arrived in Balamb Garden, she recongnized Squall there, yet he
forgot 'bout his past, so also 'bout Ellone...his sis for a good moment of
time. dream sequence of him as youngster are still left in his memories,
only they are coming out after Ellone's first sending of Laguna's past.
This
dream to Squall didn't occupy to think further when Selphie and Zell both
had this dream to, the mission was too much important then this. Reasons
for why Ellone sended these sequence can only be cleared if you actually
talk to Laguna.
"Ward
says...Good thing you don't look like your father."
"You
look very much like your mother."
Kiros
and Ward seem to intertwine with Laguna's feelings here, reasoning
why he would say this. It seems that Kiros and Ward know whom Squall's
parents are, yet it is certain that this is what many people see as the
answer on most questions if you actually go deeper in the stories core.
As
far as I know, Ellone has been sending these memories of Laguna's past to
Squall, to know whom and how great his father is, but Squall himself never
actually thought this far, yet Ellone wanted to confront Squall with his
true past and family, just to know the truth, not living in fantasy. To
the end of the game, it isn't sure wether Squall knows the truth 'bout his
family, but as far Squall may go to listen to Laguna, it should take some
time before he'll know.
The
words that Kiros through Ward meant that Squall has the same facial
expression of his mother, mostly his eyes as many of the fans state. Why
Kiros said those words because they all know the thruth 'bout the past and
what Ellone meant with the sequence.
"Let's
talk when it's all done."
"I
have a lot to tell you..."
"Well,
if you don't want to hear it, I'll understand."
These
phrases are confused to start over, yet there is a easy theory behind it,
the meaning 'bout what Kiros and Ward meant and the reason why Ellone
stopped sending more dream sequences. Through this statement it is clear
that many questions for Laguna are being answered through Ellone, she was
the one looking in his past to looking for the answers, thanks to Squall
she could do that, because he lives forth in Laguna's blood. This can also
be seen why Moombas recognize Squall as his father.
It
isn't really certain at the beginning of the meeting with Laguna how he
feels, although he acts nervous around Squall. This may be the reason that
he knows whom Squall is, is it then also one of the reason Squall had to
go to meet up with the president? Most fans will fill up the empty parts
between lines and feelings, yet most of them end the same.
"It
was a mistake to send Ellone back to Raine."
"Raine
dies, and Elle was sent to the orphanage."
"If
I had only gone to Winhilll with Elle...I would've been able to see Raine
one last time."
"Raine
was dead. Ellone, missing. My job kept me busy."
"I
was left here thinking about this and that and before I knew it, all this
time had passed."
Most
people are still questioning why Laguna didn't went back to Raine,
although this is also stated in the game. Although, words behind this all
get's other questions to raise and also confusion. To save Ellone, Laguna
had to leave Raine behind, yet she knew he would succeed in his task. She
believed in him, the believe Squall has for people, yet also this was
invicible to see at first.
To
get by, Laguna played in numerous films and has written articles for a
paper. Some time later he finally sees the horizon of Esthar and sneaks
in, yet is soon to be captured and works at the Lunatic Pandora Laboratory
together with a moomba, whom he sets free. He hear's the name Ellone
fallling and decided to escape from the Laboraty, to get to the main city
of Esthar. This story is been stated in the game, yet becoming a president
isn't the only reason why he hasn't come back.
His
work may have kept busy, yet he took the time to send Ellone back to
Raine. Reasoning why he hasn't come back was that he wanted to have Esthar
be free of the sorceress...Adel. Like promised he became the new
president, yet he didn't knew what was happening with Raine, just he did
knew she was pregnant. His job may have kept him busy, but contacting
someone isn't impossible.
Finding
out how his words were pronounced, with the feeling, you can tell he
regrets it that he didn't go with Ellone back to Winhill, he could have
seen Raine for one more time. He would visit her, Ellone and the baby each
time or maybe they'll move out to Esthar. Yet Raine didn't survive the
labour and the baby and Ellone were send to the orphanage. The
conversation at Trabia Garden consist of a orphanage and that Ellone was
his sis, this makes up as the answers for our question that the baby was
Squall and that Ellone took care of him as a big sister.
Laguna
did hear the news, yet he was to afraid to go back, his job kept him
busy...lately I think it was just an excuse not to break down if he
actually would go. He does go after the completed mission...seeing how
nervous and happy he is to have found the cure to visit her grave without
regret.
One
think may be true withing Laguna's excuse...that time goes quickly and
before you know it is to late.
Card
It
should be instinctly typical that the person would carry Squall's card
would have to be his own father. You can't play with Rinoa nor to someone
that is really related to Squall.
Someone
I thought would have his card would have been Ellone herself, yet she was
holding onto Laguna's card instead. People saw this sign as one that would
be the reason that Laguna is his father, I believe so to.
