Eveybody got their own destiny. Wether that destiny is bad or not, we can't predict the future nor change it unless we can take two paths, think carefully which one to take. Like Rinoa destined to become a sorceress and falling in love with Squall, he also got many paths to take, just choosing them is hard. Destinies and faiths in Final Fantasy seem relevant, but they always lead the characters in a good path, which it might be.

Hero or no hero

Many people, including me don't see Squall as the real hero. The reason beyond this is because he first seemed anti-social, his lack of competitive and his silence aloofed personality.

The reason why he is the hero is because he is the lead character and Square-Enix calls him the hero of the game. yet, neither me, you or Squall sees himself as the hero. He had to take this path to know that Rinoa is going to be save and to prevent the world, Rinoa, himself and others to be thorn apart in the Time Compression. He is the hero, yet nobody calls him that.

Leader of Balamb Garden

This is one of the paths Squall was forced to take, he couldn't go backwards because that would leave him with nothing. Balamb Garden needed a young superior leader that had a clear mind, great leadership quality and had the path already to defeat the sorceress. Everyone seemed to help Squall by taking up some duties, so that he only had to keep eye on the mission itself and not the duties he has for the students.

Squall at the end seems to like being the leader as everyone seems to know him as a leader and he knows their isn't any way back out of it. yet, I doubt being a leader for Squall isn't what he has to planned to do for a life-time, yet this mission requires a person with the abiltity not to crush down and to know what the mission requires to do.

Lion and Angel

Squall is destined to become a lone-wolf, yet to chance open again through love. The reason why Squinoa came to exist was because of both the parents played a huge role.

It seemed that Julia and Laguna were in love with each other, yet they both were sererated through difficult circumstances and married each with a different person. After all this time, they still had the love for each other, that dissapeared into the hearts of their children. Squall and Rinoa are destined to love.

Which makes up the clearance that they were puppy-love, not true love, makes the answer on wether Seifer was true. Like Julia and Laguna were for each other, this was the same with Seifer and Rinoa. Like her mother  she fell in love with someone else, yet not to sure if it was love, her true love was someone else. This could have been the same for Squall, yet because of his aloof personality, he didn't fell in love with someone, yet someone else did in his place.

Therefore I do see that the misunderstood Quistis and Seifer would end up going together as they were both the not-true love. This is my theory.
