Being
the hero of the game, Squall is different then the characters he will face
in the future. He is rather closed in himself and afraid of loosing those
that stand close to him. He has a invicible shield around him and
defending himself with the word "whatever..." makes it easier
for him to walk away.
Born
in Winhill, Squall was raised for five years in the orphanage of sorceress
Edea after his mother died and his father did not return back to him. For
12 years Squall has lived in a school where SeeD are being trained in
order for one day to defeat a evil sorceress, his matron Edea actually
thought sending him of to her husbands school, would do him good or let
him become more opener.
Squall's
life hasn't changed much since he seems to have forgotten why he wants to
be lonely and be left out, this has to do whatever has happend in his far
past. Afraid of loosing friend or people that he can rely on when he needs
them the most, afraid he might be hurted again like that ever did 12 years
ago.
Because
of his well education, Squall is a very intelligent, smart teenager, with
lack of teamspirit and acting as a robot rather then relaxing before
battle. Squall is pretty matured for his young age and does not like to
think about his future, since his past was well unclear, he is afraid what
might come in the future. With this behaviour he tends to reject people as
far as he can
Because
of his past feelings and personality, Squall tends to have developed a
sworn enemie by the name of Seifer Almasy, which because of his jealousy
has taken up training with the same sword, but with the name Hyperion.
Seifer has always been jealous behind Squall's techniques and popularity
and would do anything in order to win a battle, which means going agains
the rules.
This
only lead in Seifer provoking Squall to the end, and knowing Squall he
never runs away because being weak is something of a taboo for him.
Whatever else has happend, it was always Squall that would win the fight
since his tecnique and gunblade is far more powerful then the Hyperion,
because of it's better figure.
Squall
might be seen as a cold-hearted, lonely figure, he is just protecting
himself from eventual more pain, that is the reason why he hold everything
back. By this Squall looks strong and fierce, that is because he believes
in himself and in the GF calls Griever.
He
does not have any place to go, his only home is Balamb Garden, he does not
have any memories nor family, but he stay's strong in the familiar places
and battles. He sometimes have hard times with his feelings that bore up,
he trains in order to be strong, therefore also one of Headmaster Cid's
favourite student, because he sees Squall as a son he never could have.
