balamb gardenBalamb Garden was the first Garden to exist to a dream of Cid Kramer. To create garden such as Balamb Garden, Cid needed a amount of money to regain as what it is now. Cid took help of a Shumi named Norg, one of the few that lives in the final stage of Shumi. Norg wished to give Cid money as long as he became the Grand master of the Garden, which Cid accept upon silence. Cid took his job as the Headmaster of the garden itself, which the job of Norg took of holding the Garden steady and functional.

 

As the Garden became more populair, two other Gardens were being build on each regio. One in Trabia and another in Galbadia. The reason why there isn't any in the Esthar region is because nobody could ever enter the region itself, it may be established in the future.

 

The world was thorn apart with sorceresses, many people were scared and nobody wanted to go out. Through the game, we only now two past sorceresses; Adel and Hyne. Wether Hyne was a good or evil sorceress isn't know, yet because Edea had received the power it gives us a opinion that she was a good sorceress that fought in many battles against other sorceress. Adel herself is one of the more evil sorceresses and ruler of Esthar. Thanks to Laguna and his plans, Esthar would soon be free of Adel. yet Adel is one of Ultimecia's main targets to complete her goal.

 

Gardens like Balamb Garden, consist of a ordinary school with tasks to be done before applying to become a SeeD. You need to choose a weapon, train in the monster's liar. Not everyone is qualified to become a SeeD member, so most of the students leave school before turning 15, because they do not yet know which path would be good for them to follow. Although, most people seem to dream to become a SeeD member.

 

A garden consist of many facilities, for people to enjoy living in the school, because it's their home. It seems that students are free to go home in the week-ends, yet not everyone can do this. Reasons for this is because they do not have a home, like Squall and Seifer, they both are orphans.

 

Masters?

Everyone that enters the garden get's in touch directly with the headmaster, who is known by the name Cid Kramer. Unlike most headmasters, Cid is both understanding as objective. He needs to be strict when needed, yet he beholds his gentle figure trying to solve problems out, therefore many people looks up to Cid and trust him. A other master, the Grand master isn't to known within Balamb Garden and therefore can't be loved. Rumours go around the garden that the Grand master isn't of the human race, nobody figured out who. Nobody really can love this guy, he only cares 'bout money, not really for the students.

 

Facilities?

Balamb Garden has 7 facilities each with their own use. There is also a Front Gate, leading out and in Balamb Garden, which I won't explain. Here is some slight information 'bout the facilities.

 

Infirmary: This is the place where people go when they are injured, but most people go their for advice of Dr. Kadowaki. She is a gently, beloved and understands every situation. She also seems to be very good at her job and many students love her. Dr. Kadowaki also insisted of staying with Balamb Garden when it's was in danger, just to help people that needed her.

 

Library: This is Rinoa's favourite place. The library beholds every kind of book that either can enjoy you or give great education for tasks. This is also a place where students come to make their homework if they need a book out of the library. The students that take care of the Library are girls, they are friendly, likes to help, but beware of the rules. The faculty seems to hate the girls job, complaining everytime something is wrong. This is also the place where Zell's crush works. Zell therefore is seen a lot by the entrance.

 

Quad: This place isn't used much throughout the game, only it seems there is a stage for Selphie's festival. Students occassionally goes to the Quad to take a breath, have fun with rollerskating or just to be outside. Not much is known 'bout the Quad, it isn't a important place in the game. BEWARE: this isn't the place where the SeeD Ball has been held. Refer below.

 

Training Center: This is by far my favourite place. Training Center or by most students called 'Monster's Liar is a dangerous yet interesting place to be. There are two kinds of monsters living there, Grats and T-Rex. The encounter with the T-Rex is rare, yet do flee if you aren't strong enough. There is also a place called 'Secret Area' held in the Training Center, only available once in the game and has a great view on Balamb Garden. This place is great to get used to battle and beholds a drawpoint. Later you can find the CC member Joker, try winning the Leviathan card from him.

 

Cafeteria: The cafeteria is the place where you eat. There is a lot of commercial for Hot-Dogs, so you better be there on time. This is also Zell's favourite food. The cafeteria also doesn't have a big role in the game, yet you can win Quistis Card.

 

Parking: Also not interested, yet Rinoa asks with the tour to visit it, only to be dissappointed by it. This area consist mostly Garden cars, if their is a big mission, a Garden car can be used as long as it get's back in one piece.

 

Dormitory: As the name say's this is the place where the students sleep. I remember Squall saying there aren't enough rooms, so what happens with the other students? Or did I hear wrong and does Squall mean that there isn't enough space for one room, so they have to put it into two persons in one room? Ya know, the kind of room Squall had before. Lol, anyway, the rooms are kinda small, but it's suppose to sleep not to do anything else.

 

Faculty rules

Like any ordinary school, it beholds rules, so does Balamb Garden have for each facilitie and or code.

 

[Classroom] Students should be in their seats and waiting for the instructors 5 minutes before class. When class is over, proceed quietly to your next class. Food, weapons and magic are prohibited. Study panels are shared. Handle with care.

 

[Training Center] Proceed with caution. There are real monsters in the training center. It is open 24 hours. Entering the grounds for reasons other than training is prohibited. Do not engage in battles beyond your abilities.

 

[Infirmary] Visit the infirmary if you have any health concerns or problems. No items may be taken from the infirmary without permission. Follow the doctor's instructions. Resident Physician: Doctor Kadowaki.

 

[Library] Open Hours 9:00 a.m. -lights out. Library Usage All materials are open to pucblic. You may check out materials at the desk. Remain quiet at all times.

 

[Dormitory] Everybody is welcome to apply. SeeD's have priority for single rooms. Going out after hours for reasons other than training is prohibited. Do not leave personal possessions in common areas.

 

[Cafeteria] Open Hours 9:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m. Keep the area clean. If late night meals are required, order them beforehand.

 

[Attire] In general, there is no dress code in Balamb Garden. However, dress accordingly if instructed to do so by your superiors.

 

[Reward and Punishments] The headmaster presents official commendations to outstanding students. Students who engage in violent acts, sexual promiscuity, or who fall behind in their curriculum, etc. may be expelled from Garden.

 

[Conduct] The skills acquired in the Garden must never be used for personal gain. Refrain from committing any acts that may damge the Garden's reputation. Take time to think things through before starting a relationship.

 

[Emergiencies] Procedures in case of an emergency. If you are on 2F, use the emergancy exit next to the classroom. If you are on 1F, exit through the front gate. All students must take care of junior classmen during emergencies. Do not se the lift during an emergency.

 

Festival Room?

People seem to think that Quad has been used for the SeeD ball, but as far as I could go in the Quad there isn't any transparent ceiling and doesn't lay on a floor. If you would remember the balcony where Squall and Quistis stood, the only thing visible was the sky and the sea or the horizon for that matter. At the end of the game the Quad was totally destroyed at the end, Selphie was down for a moment too. At the camera credits you viewed that the party was inside. That makes us to believe that there is another floor, which we couldn not enter. That floor would propably be the ballroom.

 

Draw Points

Balamb Garden also has some minor draw points located on various facilities, like the Training Center, the Front Gate, the Library and the Base Floor.
