I'll
be here...
Why...?
I'll
be 'waiting"...here...
For
what?
I'll
be 'waiting'...for you...so...
If
you come here...
You'll
find me.
I
promise.
The
promise between Squall and Rinoa is something unique, something only real
lovers would do. Nobody would get to this phrase without questioning
themselves.
Although,
this phrase has been seen in the far beginning of the game, it doesn't
have any other meaning rather then in disc 3. The reason why you could see
this phrase was meant for you to know that this game would be a romance
game. Unlike most other games you could directly find out that the guy and
the girl would be together in the end, so that blew of some curiosity.
In
disc 3 you find out that Rinoa has become a sorceress and is afraid to go
public. She asks if they could go to Edea's house, yet disagreed by the
others. Eventually you have too to take the Ragnarok to Edea's house.
While entering you see Angelo running to the left side, you only have to
follow. Wether Rinoa is directly in your group or not (which you then have
to wait for her), a conversation starts which leds you see a other side of
Squall.
Rinoa
starts talking about how scared she is that Ultimecia would posses her
again and that Squall would have to kill her. Squall is amazed by her
saying this and tries to comfort her on his own personal way that she
isn't the sorceress that he is after. It doesn't comfort Rinoa to the
fulliest, yet she becomes a little calmer about it.
Squall
then takes a big decision, a decision he just flips out, but soon accepts
in order not to loose someone again. In order for Rinoa to stay with him
forever wether when they love each other or not, or if she becomes evil or
not, he'll be her knight. In the end Squall becomes the real knight, not
Seifer who only was running after his dream. A real knight comes after a
decision, not a dream.
It
isn't certain wether Rinoa knows the fact that Squall would be her knight,
maybe he won't for some time not to get her worry about him. Squall would
be with her in full light or darkness and will do everything in order to
protect her, even giving his life or love. In the end I would think that
everyone would protect each other. In order not to get lost again nor feel
the hurt Squall once felt.
In
a while Rinoa would tell the story she had for couple of nights. The
promise she had made to Squall really came to exist in that dream, it only
had a real meaning together at the flower-field. Squall didn't promise
anything to Rinoa, she couldn't find him because they haven't promised
each other to see shooting stars. Although, Squall comforted her on a way
like 'It was only a dream', he kind of saw Rinoa still down about it and
reasoned with himself to promise to her.
In
the end they would find each other on the place of promise only is a
different time. Through Rinoa's heart she could find him and brought him
back to their time. This gives us the fact that Rinoa can control time on
a certain way, something sorceresses have control about.
